Girls Empowering Girls

ANDRIANI TSAPATSARI
Meet the woman who inspired the Girls Empowering Girls program.
Andriani is far more than a successful Procter & Gamble executive, a post-graduate creative writing student and a lover of theater and the arts.
For us, she is also the person who inspired our Girls Empowering Girls initiative.
Her love and devotion to the empowerment of women and her desire to help people were transformed, with her positive energy, into a program that allows us to change the lives of women and their daughters with the help of other women.
With Andriani’s assistance, we’ve covered the needs of P. and her daughter M. for an entire year!
P. faces numerous issues in seeking stable employment that would allow here to cover her needs and those of her daughter. Due to her inability to find work, she is in greater need of psychological support and empowerment. Her daughter, M., faces self-esteem issues and socialization challenges at school primarily due to her weight increase caused by her poor-quality diet.
Thanks to regular counseling sessions with our psychologist and the guidance of our nutritionist, P. and her daughter have changed their lives significantly, both in terms of the improvement of their daily nutrition as well as the increase in self-esteem and healthier relationships with themselves.
“Because when a woman supports another woman, something magical happens. Two women get stronger. One with the power of giving, the other with the opportunity to take her life into her own hands. Somehow, tomorrow becomes one ray of sunshine brighter than today. In world that “allowed” women to vote and run in marathons just a few decades ago, we women must support each other. So we can allow ourselves to have all that a human is entitled to in order to live and be happy.”

VIVIAN ZOTALI
How Vivian changed little Μ.’s life
Vivian is an artist who decided this past June to donate the proceeds of her solo art show ”For [we are all] Children” to Πρώτα το Παιδί - Children First. Her donation was able to significantly support S. and her 11 year-old daughter, M.
S. is the single mother of 2 children who joined our empowerment programs in January 2021. She had acute needs: she and her children lacked health insurance, and S. was thus unable to seek treatment for her daughter’s chronic thyroid condition, not to mention visit a doctor for anything urgent that may have arisen.
S. herself has numerous dental challenges, while the precarious financial condition of her family is an ongoing source of daily stress for her. However, she does not despair; she continuously tries to learn and evolve, by participating in digital education courses and seeking part-time employment that will allow her to continue to raise her children.
With her donation, Vivian covered all of little M.'s needs (nutritional, educational, medical) for 7 months!
I am the mother of a daughter. I’ve grown up in an environment where the key messages were “you can do anything” and “be independent.” These helped me deal with many life challenges and also helped me to follow my passion for art. If through creating and connecting, I am able to influence a child to follow her dream and live her truth, then I feel like I have made a positive contribution to our world.
